Why We Built This
Every day, Canadian professionals send client data to AI tools — violating PIPEDA without knowing it. US privacy tools don't understand Canadian law. Enterprise compliance platforms cost $500K and ignore Quebec entirely.
We started Canuckt AI because Canadian businesses deserved better. A platform that speaks their language (both of them), knows their laws, and keeps their data in their country.
Shielk was born from a simple question: how do you use ChatGPT without breaking Canadian privacy law? The answer is anonymize first, use AI, then restore real values. Valdra followed — because detecting PII is only half the battle. You also need to prove you're compliant.

I came to Canada with degrees across business and technology — including an MBA — and a question I could not stop asking. Why were Canadian businesses — resilient, technically capable, world-class at what they do — using American privacy tools that had never heard of PIPEDA? Paying for compliance platforms built for GDPR that simply renamed a few fields and called it done?
The accountant in Ottawa processing SINs through ChatGPT. The Ontario clinic importing patient records into an AI that stores everything on servers in Virginia. The Quebec retailer using a US compliance tool that does not even mention Law 25. Capable, careful, well-intentioned. And completely unprotected by tools that were never built for them.
